Kabir often walked through market bazaars observing people looking for lost items in the dark. He joked about a person dropping a diamond inside their dark house, but walking outside to search for it under the streetlamp because the light was better out there. He used this hilarious image to show how humanity handles spiritual dissatisfaction. We feel an internal ache or emptiness, but we look for the solution in the external world because it is easier and more distracting.

The Knot • The Mind’s Trap

This card exposes the trap of displacement. When you feel anxious, lonely, or unfulfilled, the ego immediately redirects your energy toward external fixes—like online shopping, changing your wardrobe, or seeking a new relationship.
