Sitting on his weaving bench, Kabir worked constantly with two tools: scissors and needles. He watched how a pair of scissors took a single, magnificent sheet of fabric and cut it into separate, isolated scraps. Then, he watched the humble needle take those disconnected pieces and patiently bind them back together into a functional garment. Kabir saw this as a perfect metaphor for human behavior. He noted that it requires no skill to destroy connection, but it takes deliberate, quiet mastery to mend what is broken.

The ego loves to play the role of the scissors. When we feel hurt, defensive, or misunderstood, our immediate impulse is to cut people off, use sharp words that create division, or engage in gossip that fractures a community. The mind convinces you that cutting things apart protects your boundaries, but it often just leaves you holding disconnected, lonely fragments of a life.

If you notice a misunderstanding brewing or a division forming, choose to be the one who builds a bridge.
