In the villages, Kabir watched how people trembled with absolute terror at the mere mention of death. They spent their lives building walls, hoarding wealth, and clinging desperately to safety to avoid the inevitable end. Kabir laughed at this terror, but he wasn’t talking about the physical death of the body. He was speaking of a much grander, mystical event: the psychological death of the ego. Kabir realized that when the small, anxious, demanding identity of “me” finally dies, what remains is the infinite, joyful, and immortal life of the soul.

The Knot • The Mind’s Trap

The ego is terrified of endings. This card targets the trap of clinging to dead chapters, expired relationships, or outdated versions of yourself out of sheer comfort. The mind convinces you that if a specific structure collapses, or if you let go of an old identity, you will be destroyed. This fear freezes you in place, preventing the exact breakdown required for your spiritual rebirth.

Do not fear the ending of a chapter today. Look closely at an expectation, a habit, or a life dynamic that is clearly crumbling, and consciously choose to let it die with a peaceful, joyful heart. Trust that the collapse of the old structure is the sacred, required ground upon which your new growth will bloom.
