In Kabir’s village, grand fortresses and heavy wooden temple doors were secured with massive, imposing iron locks. People assumed that only a highly powerful guard or an elite priest held the authority and the key to open them. Kabir laughed at how humanity applies this same logic to spiritual freedom. He noticed that seekers spend their entire lives begging gurus, institutions, or future milestones to unlock the gates of peace for them, completely oblivious to the fact that the key is already resting quietly in their own palms.

The Knot • The Mind’s Trap

The ego loves to play the role of the helpless captive. It thrives on the illusion that your inner freedom is a conditional event dependent on someone else’s approval, a change in your circumstances, or a future breakthrough. The mind convinces you that you are locked out of your own joy. This card exposes the trap of waiting for permission—the illusion that the gate of your own heart requires someone else’s key to open.

Stop waiting for a sign, a shift in circumstances, or anyone else’s validation to feel free tonight. Realize that the gate separating you from absolute peace has never actually been locked.
