WEAVINGS OF KABIR • CARD 42
The Boundless Sky
The Verse
गगन मण्डल में सेज पिया की, जहाँ थिरता मनवा जायी।
Gagan mandal mein sej piyā kī, jahān thirtā manvā jāyī.
The bed of my Beloved is spread across the boundless sky, where my restless mind finally rests in absolute stillness.
The Unspun Thread • The Context
In the final, ultimate song of his life, Kabir left behind all earthly metaphors of looms, clay pots, and marketplace scales. He looked up at the vast, infinite dome of the sky stretching over the plains of India. He realized that the Divine Presence isn’t a person or an object you can grasp—it is a vast, unmappable field of absolute space. Kabir experienced his own consciousness expanding until it was identical to that sky. Up there, high above the clouds, the storms, and the weather of human life, there is a place of perpetual, unbroken quietude where the soul finally rests.
The Knot • The Mind’s Trap
This final card dissolves the ultimate trap: the illusion of the small self. The ego spends its entire existence feeling like a tiny, fragile creature trapped inside a physical body, constantly battered by changing emotions, opinions, and fears. The mind convinces you that you are the passing weather—the storm, the rain, or the dark clouds. The trap is forgetting that you are actually the vast, unshakeable space through which the weather is passing.
Weaving It Into Life • The Suggestion
Step completely into your true, boundless nature this morning. Look up at the open sky above your garden and take a long, slow, deep breath. Realize that your passing thoughts, your changing emotions, and your daily tasks are just small, harmless clouds drifting through you. You are as wide, as safe, and as eternal as the sky itself. Let your restless mind completely dissolve into that absolute, sunlit stillness today.
Afterword • The Unbroken Thread
Seeker, you have journeyed through forty-two landscape threads of wisdom,
moving from the sharp mirror of self-reflection
to the absolute freedom of the boundless sky.
But do not make the mistake of thinking this journey has an end.
The loom of life never stops clacking.
As you close this page,
remember that you are the living thread.
Every ordinary interaction waiting for you outside your garden—
the people you meet, the chores you do,
the laundry you wash, and the moments of silence you protect—
is the raw fabric where Kabir's truths are meant to be worn.
You do not need to be a scholar, a priest, or a saint to live a sacred life.
You only need to approach your days
with the absolute innocence and ease of the simple path.
When the storms of the world stir up your internal waters,
or when the ego tries to trap you in a cage of overthinking,
take a long, slow, deep breath.
Look up at the open sky, return to your steady roots,
and remember that you are already safely at home in the Divine.
Go forth with a light heart, an open hand,
and a soul completely drunk on love.
The weaving is finished, the cloth is complete,
and it is beautiful.
— Kahat Kabir —
Says Kabir, listen my brother seekers…
walk in absolute peace.
